Tell us a little bit about your background.
I have lived in Manatee County for most of my life, attended Manatee High School and then the University of Southern Mississippi. I am a mother to 3 children and have 3 grandchildren. I am proud to have worked in the insurance industry for 40 years and spent the last 35 years with Boyd Insurance & Investments.
What are your key accomplishments in your field/ on the job?
I have experience working in every aspect of the insurance agency business: Receptionist, Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, Bookkeeping, Human Services, Office Management, Personnel Training, Marketing, and IT.
Why did you choose to work in this industry?
Unemployment was very high in the late 1970’s, I needed a job after college and I luckily got a job as a receptionist. The agency I worked for encouraged me to learn the business and get licensed — I have been passionate about this industry ever since!

Hard to say, but I listen to classic rock all the time.
