Tell us a little bit about your background. (Where did you go to school, where are you from, etc.
I am from Wyandotte, MI. Just south of Detroit. We moved to Florida in 2013, first in Kissimmee, then in 2015, we moved to Homestead, south of Miami. We moved to Bradenton in 2019.
Why did you choose to work in this industry?
I started in insurance by accident. I was attending a paint party in South Florida and a woman sitting across the table overheard that I was looking for employment. She gave me her business card and suggested that I take my resume to a local insurance agency; that they were looking for a receptionist. I did take my resume and was hired as the assistant to the accounting manager. Six months later I was licensed and working in Commercial Lines. I haven't looked back. Who knew that insurance could be so interesting and fun.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Stick your finger in a bucket of water, pull it out, and see how quickly the hole fills up. You are replaceable. Give 120% in all you do.
